>> About the Club

Onslow Village Lawn Tennis Club is located in the heart of Onslow Village on the western edge of Guildford, a short distance from the A3 and A31 trunk roads.

It was formed in 1922, the same year that The All England Lawn Tennis Club moved to its current site in Church Road, Wimbledon. The Club originally consisted of three grass courts and Members had to cope with the problem of cows from a neighbouring farm wandering over to graze. These days we have four well-maintained all-weather courts and the word 'lawn' in our full name simply refers to the type of tennis we play.

All our courts are floodlit and playable until 9.30pm, so at Onslow Village Lawn Tennis Club tennis is an all-year-round sport.

Our Clubhouse is comfortable and welcoming. There are cloakrooms and a small kitchen which has a fridge to chill your summer drinks and a cooker for preparing snacks. The Clubhouse has paved and grassed viewing areas which form a sun trap nestling against the slopes of the North Downs.

Currently we have teams comprising men, ladies, mixed and junior playing in the Aldershot & District League, Chaucer League, Woking League and Guildford Junior League.

Junior sessions are coached and coaching is also available for adults either on an individual or small group basis. A Club Finals Day is held in July, various trophies are played for throughout the season and a very popular Quiz Night is held at Onslow Village Hall during the winter.
